Grandmaster Natalia Pogonina is no newcomer to such matches. Last time she defeated with White a team composed of almost 4000 people from over 100 countries. Now things are getting even more challenging: Natalia agreed to play a re-match game with Black! Make sure you don't miss a chance to sign-up for the game and compete against one of world's top female players!

This is absolutely not a rematch. "World vs _____" is more a descriptive term than an identification of _________'s opponent. In fact, if 2 totally different websites with 2 totally different memberships play one game each against someone, the second game can't by any stretch of the imaginiation be called a "rematch". "The second game against a World Team"? I could live with that. "A rematch against the World"? Not even close to accurate. As an extreme example, I suppose a local Chess club could set up a online match with a GM and all their members could call themselves a "World" team. Depending on how well advertised it was, they might get 30 players representing "The World". A review of the Chess.com game tells me that was a very weak team.

@Ohio 1. You seem to fail to realize that the World is a figure of speech. It is not possible to get ALL the world to play, so when a major portal sets up a game which ANYONE can join, that's called a match vs the World. Therefore, Natalia is indeed playing a rematch against the World. And, naturally, some of the people haven't participated in the first game. Some of them haven't joined the second. So what? 2. About the strength of the team: at Chess.com using computers wasn't allowed. Meanwhile, as you know better than me, the ChessGames team is known for collaborating on analyzing the position using top chess engines and strong hardware. It's very easy to claim being a strong player when you have guidance and can use 30+ ply computer analysis.

I don't agree, but I appreciate you allowing me to voice a differing viewpoint.

No two "world teams" have ever been the same. Kasparov played a very weak world team, due to the massive sign-ups that Microsoft procured for it. Lost of players means lots of amateurs. Chessgames users are hardcore chess fans, this is surely Natalia's strongest World match yet. Win lose or draw, she has nothing to be ashamed of. They've already dispensed with two world correspondence GMs and correspondence chess isn't even Natalia's specialty.
