Bronze went to Nikita Vitiugov, who defeated last year's winner Dmitry Andreikin and had a better tie-breaker than the ex-World Chess Champion. Peter Svidler claimed his 7th Russian Champion title after winning a rapid play-off (1-0, 1/2-1/2 - Black agreed to a draw in a commanding position) against Ian Nepomniatchi.
