Swigger, Hughie and Ralph were so drunk that decided that the best thing was for the three of them to share the cost of a cab. Now Hughie's home was eight miles from the pub, and when they eventually got him out of the taxi, he gave Swigger a £5 note. A mile up the road, the taxi reached Swigger's house. Swigger got out and gave Ralph a £20 note who returned a £5 note.

Ten miles from the pub, Ralph reached his house. He fell out of the taxi, gave the driver the £20 note and told him to keep the change. The fare was calculated at £1.80 per mile and each man should only have paid his share according to his distance travelled. Which of the four men made a profit and how much?
