Anand lost 11 rating points, but defending the title was well worth it

For the first time in the history of FIDE rapid and blitz ratings have been introduced. They can be viewed in the players' profiles, although there are no lists of top blitz and rapid players so far.

Classical chess:

Carlsen has a new record - 2837, up from 2835. Kasparov is still #1 in history at 2851
Radjabov broke Fischer's record and is now at 2788
Bologan continues his meteoric rise - 2732 (+16 points)
Riazantsev, one of those coaches who has 2717 now!
McShane's rating rises to 2713, one point above Short's best rating (2712)

P.S. Anticipating questions about Natalia's rating, we have to note that FIDE doesn't always have enough time to process all the tournaments' standings quickly enough. The results of the Russian Top League will be taken into account in the next rating list. Natalia is due +10 points.
