Kabir from India | Signed on: Sat Jul 17 16:23:30 2010 Hi Natalia. I love the Chess Tactics puzzles that you post frequently. However, the answers that are posted are sometimes 4 or 5 moves long, so they can be difficult to visualise. Would it be possible for you to use the same kind of boards that are used on chess.com where one can move the pieces, or view the moves on the board by clicking on the arrows at the bottom of the board? Comment: Will think about it. The problem is there are often sub-variations, I don't like the "play the one and only move" approach. | | | | libiticus | Signed on: Fri Jul 16 02:15:57 2010 Dear WGM I forgot ur name, thank u for your articles and say hi to Thea L. How do i chose my opening repertoire?? 1.e4 or 1.d4 what do you suggest? Comment: You can start with the classical 1.e4 and switch to 1.d4 later on (if you wish). The road to becoming a GM is long and tough though. | | | | rgCOCA | Signed on: Tue Jun 29 20:12:27 2010 wow! beauty and brains! you are way too cool... | | | Akin from Oxford | Signed on: Tue Jun 29 19:08:14 2010 Hey, thanks for the add on FB, i have a question for you, right now i consider my self approximately ELO 1700 i intend to train and improve my chess to be at least ELO 2300 (strong master)what training process/method do GMs go through example magnus carlsen.what are the things i need to learn and master to be very strong? my ambition is to become a Grand master (or grand master stregnth) within the next 3 years. Comment: It's extremely hard to get from 1700 to 2300 in just 3 years. It actually took Magnus Carlsen longer than that... You will have to play about 70-100 rated games per year against strong opponents, study chess regularly (and, probably, with a coach). And success is not granted. I write articles on chess improvement every week, follow them if you're interested. It's impossible to answer such a global question in just a few words... | | | Hypernigeria from Oxford | Signed on: Tue Jun 29 11:30:07 2010 Hey, i love your passion for the chess game, I am akinleye Akinseye a Nigerian master chess player and the brain behind www.hypernigeria.com a place where Nigerian chess players discuss. i love chess as an art. nice site you got here.
