My main aim for the tournament was to qualify for the World Championship. Unfortunately, I failed to achieve it. I scored 7 out of 12, with 6 draws, 4 wins, 2 losses. My mood was far from peaceful I kept struggling in every game, but couldnt win every game. My favorite walks (there was a beautiful park with a pond nearby) didnt help, neither did my good mood we have a cheerful company at the event. Something remarkable to remember: in the 8 round I have been playing with Marie Sebag. The game lasted rather long, most of the players have already finished their games. Suddenly I felt that the table was beginning to shake, the same as the chandeliers at the palaces ceiling. That was a sign of an earthquake, fortunately, a mild one. I pulled myself together and won the game: Pogonina N. (2355) Sebag M. (2417) 2005 P.S. All photos are courtesy of IM Pavel Lobach
