In 2013 Maxime Vachier-Lagrave overtook Fabiano Caruana as the most active top chess player One of the common questions asked by chess fans is: "How many games per year should I play?". While the answer strongly depends on the player's personality and level, it is still worth taking a look at what the leading GMs are doing. We have been monitoring the tournament schedules of the world's top-20 players for the last 5 years and sharing our observations with you.
