Three witnesses came in one at a time and selected who they thought they had seen mugging the priest. The first said "Shifty Sid did it". The second said "Either Shifty Sid or Creepy Chris was the mugger". The third said "Neither Shifty Sid nor Doubtful Des did it". PC Neesbend knew that at least one of the witnesses had been bribed by the culprit and was lying. Fortunately, the officer knew how many were lying and managed to uniquely determine who the villain was.
