In 2013 the European Chess Championship is hosted by Legnica, Poland from May 4 to 17. Strong GMs are coming there to qualify for the World Cup (23 open spots) and try to win a prestigious title. For amateurs it is a great opportunity to face famous opponents and experience the tournament of a lifetime. The playing system is a 11 round Swiss. Russian players managed to win four European Chess Championships in a row (2009-2012). Will the tradition hold this year?
