Numerous upsets took place in round 3. Here are the most notable ones: Kosintseva T. (2513) - Foisor C. (2398) 0-1; Danielian (2478) - Molchanova (2346) 0-1; Ziazulkina (2348) - Mkrtchian (2458) 1-0; Kosteniuk (2448) -Schleining (2326) 0-1, Kosintseva N (2535) - Videnova (2301) 0-1, Sandu (2253) - Zhukova (2435) 1-0, Savina (2325) - Ozturk H. (1784), not to mention multiple draws (including Sedina (2353) - Pogonina (2449)).
