A good approach to strategic endgames is to first think schematically and only then specifically. In such endgames, you should try to consider what you are ideally want to achieve in broad terms and only then move on to calculating specific moves.

Vladimir Kramnik employed a brave exchange sacrifice against Daniel Fridman and succeeded in outplaying his opponent. Arkadij Naiditsch self-destructed as White against Michael Adams. Georg Meier made a short draw with Dmitry Andreikin. Igor Khenkin came close to beating Fabiano Caruana, but didn't convert his advantage. Similarly, Peter Leko had a very promising position in the middlegame against Wang Hao, but the game ended in a draw.

The 10th round turned out to be truly dramatic: Maxim Vachier-Lagrave had Ding Liren under pressure most of the time, but at some points it seemed like a draw was inevitable. Nevertheless, the #1 French player won and tied his opponent, Alexander Moiseenko and Bacrot Fressinet for first place.

Etienne Bacrot - Alexander Moiseenko ½ - ½
Maxime Vachier-Lagrave - Ding Liren 1 - 0

According to the Regulations:

If four players finish with the same amount of points after the last round, there will be semi-finals in blitz (two games with 5+2; if 1-1, one Armageddon game). The semi-finals will be Player 1- Player 4 and Player 2- Player 3 (according to Sonnenborn-Berger), with 1 and 2 having the priority to choose the colour. Then, the winners make the final, according to Point 2 (rapid and if necessary blitz games):

The tie-break: two rapid games with 15 minutes, with increase of 10/move.  If 1-1, two games with 5+2. If again 1-1, one Armageddon game with 5 for white (has to win) and 4 for black
