The Three Doors

http://www.pogonina.com/images//girlssilh.jpg

As the audience at the Globule theatre waited for the production to begin, the leading lady, Lipstick Lill, was nowhere to be found. The word was that she was in either dressing room 1,2 or 3 so the stage manager went to look for her. Unfortunately, outside each door was a minder from the Attitude Security Company, rather disagreeable looking fellows, who refused to let anyone into the rooms they were guarding.

"Where's Lipstick Lill?"
"Room 1 or 3", said the minder at room 1.
The stage manager went to room 2.
"I'm looking for the leading lady."
"Room 2 or 3", said the minder.
At room 3, the stage manager met with a more helpful response.
"She's in room 1 or 2", said the minder at room 3. "But exactly two of us are habitual liars."

In what room was Lipstick Lill?

Michael Adams dominated Dortmund-2013: 7/9 (+5 =4 -0), +21 ratings points, breaking his all-time rating record by reaching 2761

Surprisingly enough, the final game between Michael Adams and Vladimir Kramnik lasted only 14 moves and ended in a draw. This was not the type of clash for the first place the audience was expecting. Dmitry Andreikin drew Peter Leko. Fabiano Caruana's kingiside activity didn't work out well at first, but eventually Daniel Fridman collapsed and blundered. Wang Hao converted a better endgame against Georg Meier. Happy birthday to the Chinese #1 player! Arkadij Naiditsch got a comfortable advantage against Igor Khenkin right out of the opening and went on to score a full point.

With a hard-fought win against Fabiano Caruana, Vladimir Kramnik is trailing Michael Adams by 0.5 points going into the final round

Vladimir Kramnik succeeded in converting his edge against Fabiano Caruana, although the Italian player was close to saving the game on a couple of occasions. Wang Hao got a dubious position out of the opening vs. Igor Khenkin and lost. Georg Meier didn't pose any problems in front of Michael Adams, the game was drawn. Daniel Fridman and Dmitry Andreikin struggled for 80 moves to split a point. Arkadij Naiditsch fell victim to the powerful passed pawn of Peter Leko.

The ultimate showdown will happen tomorrow. Michael Adams vs. Vladimir Kramnik. Can Vladimir beat his own record and win Dortmund for the 11th time in his career?

Ljubomir, who graced Montreal with his visits on atleast 3 occasions, has beaten virtually every top grandmaster of his time, including Karpov and Kasparov. He has also won numerous strong international tournaments, reaching the #3 top ELO spot in the early 1980′s. Some of his games are amongst the very best in the literature of the game.
