Fantasy Fortune
"What brings you here?" said a voice as Toddler Toby approached the red cave. There, high in a tree, sat the Wizard of the Wood. "I've come to seek my fortune," said Toby. Suddenly, a pixie, an elf, a goblin and a dwarf appeared in the cave entrance, each holding a black bag. "Then now is your chance," said the Wizard. "One of those bags holds 5000 gold coins, one has 3000, another 2000, and the fourth has none." Comments (1) |

By GM Arkadij Naiditsch, #1 German chess player, FIDE 2710
We are in the 1st game of the 4th round of the World Cup. Only 16 players are left and the matches are getting more and more tense, every game is worth more and more and from time to time players tend to take more "safe" decisions. This does not count for Kamsky. In a great attacking game he managed to mate Mamedyarov, who has been playing just great chess in the last few months, winning almost everything he could.

My vacation continues in Bulgaria, where I am with my family. I missed them a lot, so I really enjoy the time we spend together.
Being away from home is generally a good thing- you make your own choices, you decide what's good for you and what's not, freedom starts to make another sense when you're on your own.
Inspite of this, it's good to return home from time to time, you get some good dose of critique, you get a point of view that only the people who really care about you and who don't mind telling you the bitter truth can say.
It's really good to know that there's no hypocrisy in anything- it's pure human nature and real personality and character. Thanks God, I've got such an amazing family!
Here are some photos from my vacation:

Vesna Rozic, 26, was a WIM and two-times Slovenian Women's Chess Champion
The chess community has desperately tried to help Vesna Rozic fight cancer, but, alas, the efforts were not good enough. On this unfortunate day we have to inform you that, according to one of the Slovenian news sites, Vesna has passed away.
Our deepest condolence to her relatives, friends and fans.
